Foodies and philanthropists take note: you need to be in Philadelphia on June 14. Renowned Italian chef Marc Vetri (Vetri, Osteria, Amis) will bring thirty of his culinary pals together for the Vetri Foundation‘s Sixth Annual Great Chefs Event, to benefit Alex’s Lemonade Stand Foundation for Childhood Cancer. Three hundred bucks gets you in the door and fighting cancer; for five hundred, you can enter early, plus gain access to the “Lemon Lounge” during the event and the Great Chefs Afterparty, which will be DJed by ?uestlove (The Roots), just as soon as he gets back into town after taping that night’s Late Night with Jimmy Fallon. Sponsorship levels starting at $1,000 are also available.

Participating chefs-you-may-recognize include John Besh (Besh Restaurant Group); Chris Bianco (Pizzeria Bianco, Pane Bianco, Bar Bianco); Jennifer Carroll (10 Arts, Top Chef); Tom Colicchio (Colicchio & Sons, Craft Restaurants, Top Chef); Jose Garces (Garces Restaurant Group, Iron Chef); and Jonathan Waxman (Barbuto, Top Chef Masters). All of the chefs will be cooking in the open, so that guests can watch them as they work, and some may spend their down time mingling in the Lemon Lounge. But more important than the celebrities is the cause: sure a minimum ticket price of $300 may sound like a lot, but if you can afford the ticket price, you’ll be doing a lot both to preserve the memory of Alexandra Scott and to help make sure other kids don’t suffer her fate.

The Sixth Annual Great Chefs Event to benefit Alex’s Lemonade Stand Foundation for Childhood Cancer will be held on June 14 at 6:00 p.m. at the Urban Outfitters headquarters in Philadelphia. The Great Chefs Afterparty, DJed by ?uestlove, will follow at 9 p.m. at Amis, also in Philadelphia.
