Maynard James Keenan is perhaps one of the most enigmatic music men in the world today. Despite his tendency to perform back-to-audience, or from behind a video screen, his intense songwriting skills and commanding stage presence have merited all three of his projects—Tool, A Perfect Circle, and Puscifer—a devoted, rabid fan-base.

At the moment, it’s A Perfect Circle, a hard rock group with creative control from Keenan and Ashes Divide‘s Billy Howerdel that’s out on tour. Joining them on the road ex-Smashing Pumpkins guitarist James Iha, Ashes Divide bassist Matt McJunkins, and for this round of dates, Jeff Friedl of both Ashes Divide and Puscifer will be handling percussion. (Regular APC drummer Josh Freese is touring with Weezer for the summer.) While on tour, the guys are said to be road-testing brand new material for a yet to be fully formed upcoming album. Catch them in one of the following cities to see if the rumors are true.

About Allison Krumm

During the day Allison serves as the Digital Marketing and Social Media Manager at The Mann Center for the Performing Arts. At night she quite likes judging things that play in darkened theaters and cinemas, taking photos of live arts events, and attending elaborately themed costume parties cooked up with various co-conspirators. Allison has two almost (but not quite) completely useless film degrees that have taught her everything she knows about weaving tall tales. She aspires to one day be half as awesome as Patti Smith and cares not a whit about split infinitives. |
