Today is easily the most exciting day in album releases so far in 2012: Sharon Van Etten‘s Tramp [free NPR stream]; for us nostalgists, Van Halen’s first Diamond Dave-led album in almost 30 years, A Different Kind of Truth; Dr. Dog‘s Be the Void [free Conan O'Brien stream]; and the new Band of Skulls release, Sweet Sour [free Spin stream], is out on iTunes. (It hits other outlets next week.)

Along with the Sweet Sour album, Band of Skulls today debuted the video for the title cut, and it’s everything we could want: gritty, in-your-face, and oh so English—just like Band of Skulls.

Tickets remain for the Band of Skulls show at Union Transfer on March 23. There are also still tickets left for Dr. Dog’s two-night stand at the Electric Factory on March 24 and 25. How’s that for a three-night run of shows? Snatch up tickets to all of the shows while you can, ’cause we doubt they’ll last much longer.

About Ross Currie

Ross is a wine lover, movie quoter, and Son of Ben. He argues grammar and typesetting with an irrational, almost dogmatic fervor. And yet, his co-editors inexplicably put up with him anyway. |
